CMIS Evaluation

iiNet, the national internet service provider company, is supporting the “revisit” expedition of two young Australian adventurers, as they attempt to complete their unfulfilled 2005 mission inside the Arctic Circle.  As the principal partner of the original expedition, iiNet is behind the development of a collection of curriculum materials and lesson plans that teachers can use in the classroom to follow the exploits of the pair.
In addition to the classroom resources which cover all Learning Areas there is an extensive photo gallery, downloadable media and competitions to enter. Teachers and students will be able to follow the exciting trek from May 23rd on the 1000Hour Day website.

© David Brown	Commemoration of ANZAC Day provides students with an opportunity to learn about Gallipoli and of Australia’s involvement in conflict in the years since then. It builds an appreciation of the contributions of Australian men and women to maintaining the principles of freedom and democracy.

Teachers may also use the opportunity such a celebration presents for critical evaluation of Australia’s role in global conflict and the quest for world peace.

In 2008, Amphibian Ark will lead zoos, botanical gardens and aquariums in a globally coordinated public awareness campaign. The main goal of this campaign is to generate public awareness and understanding of the amphibian extinction crisis, which represents the greatest species conservation challenge in the history of humanity.
